FAQ

If you would have asked me back when I started this whole crazy Earl Grey Review site thing that I would someday need a FAQ, I would have thought you a loon. Yet here it is.

Q1. Why did you stop reviewing teas?
A1. I did what I originally set out to do. Review a boat load of teas in order to create a list so I would know what to get when I'm not at home. Also found out that I'm a rather traditional Earl Grey drinker which wipes out more then 50% of the teas on the market. Because adding things like cornflower, vanilla and other such things into Earl Grey is a thing, which made it getting harder and harder to find teas I wanted to review. Toward the end I even started looking into Green Tea Earl Greys and didn't like them at all. So I kept writing reviews because people were reading them and getting something from them. I.e. Value. Then one day I looked at my stats and noticed people have lost alot of interest so I'm pulled the plug. I'll keep the site up as long as Google allows or if someone wants to take over in an open source kinda way. I'm thinking GitHub....or maybe TeaHub.

Q2. Why don't you have a top 5 - 10 -15 - 20 list on your site?
A2. Everyone is so different and that is mirrored in the tea. Each blender goes about their craft in their own unique way. Which means what I like may not be what you like, and visa versa. Plus I don't want this site to be an end of your Earl Grey journey but more of a start to your own quest in trying as many Earl Grey's as you can.

Q3. But you must have a few favorites that you go back too all the time. Can you tell me those?
A3. Again I'd hate to mention one version, only to have you miss another version that you like even better. So I will make you a deal here is what I look for.  I prefer Organic or grown in "organic" settings. Meaning no chemicals or any nasty stuff you can't pronounce. I like a balanced tea with a nice full flavor. And finally I like to know the people growing, picking and all the rest are not be taken advantage of. I.e. Fair Trade.

Q4.  What the heck does TBDB mean?
A4.  It is my acronym for "Tea Bag Dispenser Box". I did some searching and found most people in the industry call it that.  So being a person that would rather put more effort into drinking and reviewing tea then writing a box name over and over I came up with TBDB.

Q5. Why are you not on FB?
A5. I will refrain from going on an incredibly long rant about security, personal privacy, narcissism and trolls and just say, I have ZERO plans to ever be on FB.
